Our upcoming Creative Meetup with Wayfair is just one week away and we’re excited to share what we consider a major update to the event! In addition to our usual company tour and information session, the visit to Wayfair will also include a creative panel including, not one, but two Emerson alums.
This will be your chance to speak directly to employees and alumni working with the company as we cover a variety of topics from internships to entry-level careers. But enough chatter — let’s see who you’ll be meeting the day of the event:
Kyle Wright, Associate Creative Director: Brand Creative
The most important quality in building a high impact brand is personal connection, and as the leader of the Brand Creative team for Wayfair, I’m obsessed with finding new ties to our customer every day. It’s something I’ve craved my entire career. After graduating from Emerson College, I spent a few years in the editorial world before joining Wayfair in 2012 as lead copywriter where I worked hand-in-hand with executive leadership to craft our first-ever brand standards and positioning. Later, I built an in-house video team that produced over 300 videos in our first year, reaching hundreds of millions of people, before co-producing a 10-episode Wayfair branded TV series with A+E Networks in 2016-2017. Today, I oversee the amazing copywriters, designers, art directors, stylists, and content producers who make the Wayfair brand a tangible, deeply-rooted entity to home lovers everywhere. I live in Providence, RI and love interior design, bourbon, and pop culture.
Junhee Chung, Head of Video Creative
Junhee had always imagined his career in photography but quickly fell in love with movie magic the same way everyone else has: making silly videos with friends. At Wayfair, Junhee leads the Video Creative team which is comprised of video editing, cinematography, and motion graphics. In addition, he serves as the cinematographer for Wayfair’s major TV campaigns.
John Abud, Head of Copyediting
John Abud is a copyeditor for the Wayfair family of brands. He earned a bachelor’s in English from Michigan State University and a master’s in education from the University of Michigan. After forays into high school teaching and youth programming, John joined Wayfair in 2015 as a copywriter, and started the copyediting team soon after. Now he and his fellow editors protect readers and writers alike by ensuring that final copy is polished and error free. John lives in Roslindale with his wife and new puppy, Cassius.
Danielle Gidley, Copywriter for AllModern
Danielle is a copywriter for AllModern. She earned a bachelor’s in journalism from Indiana University. After stints with a faith-based nonprofit and the publishing industry, Danielle joined Wayfair in 2017 in search of creative, fast-paced work. (She found it!) She writes copy for social media channels, advertising channels, and our iOS app push notifications. Danielle and her husband live in Somerville and are expecting a baby girl in January.
