Happy Retirement to Gerry Garvin!

If you haven’t already heard, one of our wonderful Career Counselors is saying farewell to Emerson College to enjoy a peaceful retirement! If you’re one of many students coming from the School of Communication, you may have worked with Gerry in the past reviewing resumes, preparing for job interviews, or asking general career advice through a scheduled appointment. She was always happy to work with students in helping them through their career readiness as well as their personal and professional development.

More than that, she brought a unique voice to the office having worked as a Career Counselor for Boston College, and Director of the MBA Career Center and MBA Co-op Program for 7 years. She also worked at large companies in Marketing and Sales, and Outplacement and Executive Search for 12 years, bringing along the experience needed to work with students as she understood both student and employer perspectives.

We’re sad to farewell but we also want to wish Gerry the best as she moves onward!

For students wondering who will be handling Gerry’s appointments, we will introduce our new/returning counselor next week! (Her name is Katharine Privert and you should be able to make an appointment with her by the end of the day tomorrow.)
