What is “Future Ready”?

Future Ready is an annual event hosted by the Career Development Center. Its purpose is to showcase and celebrate the ways in which Emerson’s departments and support offices contribute to your professional development.

The event is based on the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ (NACE) Career Competencies. Many of the competencies could be described as soft skills — skills that are helpful in general, but may not be connected to a particular action or proficiency with a system.

The Career Competencies were developed through hands-on research with employers and describe the ideal skillset for college graduates entering the workforce. You can learn more about NACE and their competencies here or continue reading for a list of what they include…

So What?

Our hope is to provide you with a stronger understanding of how you’re already developing these skills through coursework and on-campus experience. Likewise, we hope to show you how other campus partners might further develop your competencies, and by extension, your future.

Please contact us at careers@emerson.edu if you have any questions or consider meeting with us for an appointment to discuss your future as early as today.
