Your education at Emerson College is defined by the experiences which connect directly with your career. It’s through career-centric opportunities that you’ll have the chance to get your foot in the door and start developing your own professional network by applying the skills provided through your coursework.
All of this is defined by our emphasis on experiential learning, an approach to learning which exposes you to real-life work experiences through innovative, interdisciplinary, and project-based learning.
Here’s how it works:
Career Services provides a Career Readiness Plan designed to assist you throughout your time at Emerson College. This plan provides you with the specific steps you need to take in order to develop yourself as a successful professional in your post-graduate career.
The main steps include:
- Meet with your Career Counselor: Strategize your career by visiting your counselor each year to track your progress and develop an action plan moving forward. Use these meetings as a chance to reflect on your experience and to consider your future career development.
- Participate in Networking opportunities: Complete an Informational Interview, Job Shadow, or Connect with a Mentor. Attend Career Services workshops and events.
- Complete an Internship: Obtain an internship either for-credit, for-credit and paid, or paid and make the most out of this career experience. Learn more about For-Credit Internships.
