Hi! I am the career counselor for undergrad students and recent alumni who studied or are currently studying Visual Media Arts. In addition, I co-supervise the Peer Career Advisor Program with Carol Spector, and I supervise our Graduate Intern. I’ve been working at Emerson for over five years. Before Emerson, I worked as a social worker with children and in Oncology, but my career in the career services actually started in college, when I worked at the front desk of Boston College’s Career Center!

Jessica is an alumna of Emerson and loves giving back to fellow alumni and current students for career services and programming. When not working with a student or alumna in prep for their next interview or helping them network, she’s a professional actor in the New England area and working on some on written and as well as stage projects. In her spare time she’s reading a book or script or trying to keep her ear buds from falling out on her way to the train.

Almira is serving as a Graduate Assistant/Program Coordinator for EmersonNEXT. As a Graduate Assistant in the Career Development Center, I provide counseling to undergraduate and graduate students in all majors. I am currently completing my master’s degree in School Counseling at Boston University, and on the days I’m not at Emerson, I work as a School Counseling Intern at Brookline High School. I am passionate about working with students and helping them reach success, so needless to say I am thrilled to be here at Emerson this year!

Director of Career Development Center
I am the Director of the Career Development Center at Emerson College and I have been here for nine years. In this role, I oversee the staff and programs in Career Services. I also build relations with many campus partners, such as Alumni Relations, the ELA Center, Academic Affairs and other Student Affairs departments. This provides opportunities for Career Services to collaborate with others and provide more resources. I love working at Emerson. The students are so passionate and creative and everyday, there is a new story!

I’m the Associate Director for Employer Engagement and Marketing, and have been with Emerson for over five years. Prior to my role in Career Services, I served as the Employment Manager in the college’s Human Resources department. My role in our office is focused on developing relationships with employers around the country to connect our students and alumni with internship and job opportunities.

I received my undergraduate degree at MCLA, where I studied political science and public policy. Having an interest in the political process, I have been active in working for, and volunteering on, multiple political campaigns. After graduating I took a role at Suffolk University then the Department of Higher Education. While there, I was able to receive my MPA from Framingham State University. outside of my professional career, I am an avid long-distance runner who loves to train, race and win. I currently serve as the men and women’s head cross country and track coach at Lesley University. This role allows me to use the knowledge I have gained, and help other runners improve. I currently live in Boston with my Fiance, Allie.

Areas of Expertise: All things running. I have a true passion for training, competing, and winning races. I am an avid runner who races the mile to the marathon. Some PR’s are Mile: 4:58/ 5k: 16:32/ Half marathon 1:17:47/ and Marathon 2:56:29. The goal is to continue to drop these times every race I run.

Marketing Communications Specialist
Anders has worked in higher education for the past four years with a previous role at Bridgewater State University as an Integrated Marketing Manager. With a background in Communication Studies, Anders takes an interdisciplinary approach to social media and content management using industry trends and market research to back best practices. His current position with Emerson College started in May 2017 and concerns the development of strategic communications which reflect the interest of Emerson students.
